The future of New Orleans Pelicans’ young talent, Zion Williamson, remains uncertain. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Williamson is not close to returning to the court and his injury appears to have been significant.
Williamson has not played since January 2nd. In this season, Zion played in 29 games, averaging 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
The team had high expectations for Williamson, who was the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. However, his injury to his right foot has kept him out for a long time and the Pelicans have struggled without him, dropping in the rankings.
It is still unclear when Williamson will be able to return to the court, but his absence is having a significant impact on the Pelicans, who are trying to stay in the playoff race in the tough Western Conference of the NBA.
