The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a training camp deal with Christian Shumate. The forward will have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot during the preseason.
The 6-foot-6 Shumate is already familiar with the organization after appearing in 40 games last season for the Lakeland Squadron, the Pelicans’ G League affiliate.
Shumate is expected to return to the Squadron following the preseason if he does not earn a place on New Orleans’ NBA roster.
