Pedro Martínez is no longer Valencia Basket’s head coach. The Catalan coach paid the buyout clause included in his contract, which allowed him to unilaterally terminate his agreement with the club.
Martínez had extended his contract on March 25 through the end of the 2027-28 season. Valencia thanked him for his professionalism, dedication and hard work during his second stint on the Taronja bench.
After his first spell between 2015 and 2017, which ended with the 2017 Endesa League title, Martínez returned in the summer of 2024. He leaves as the coach with the most games and wins in the history of the club’s men’s professional team: 282 games and 207 victories.
