Paul George has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee after re-injuring it during a summer workout. He played just 41 games last season due to similar issues.
The Philadelphia 76ers confirmed the procedure was successful, but George’s return will be assessed only in late September, putting his availability for the opener in doubt.
Now in year two of a $212M contract, George’s durability remains a concern. With Joel Embiid also coming off an injury-riddled season, the Sixers’ core faces another uncertain start.
