Paris Basketball continues its search for a new head coach following Julius Thomas’ departure. According to Marc Stein, the French club tried to lure Jay Triano, former head coach of the Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns.
Triano has instead chosen to remain in the NBA, committing to the Portland Trail Blazers as the top assistant under new head coach Micah Nori. The 67-year-old Canadian brings extensive experience across the NBA and Canada’s national team.
Paris had already shown interest in other major coaching profiles. According to BasketNews, the club also pursued Dave Joerger, who is leaning toward staying in the NBA, and Le Mans head coach Guillaume Vizade.
