Paris 2024, Group C | South Sudan’s heart not enough: Bogdanovic takes Serbia to the quarterfinals

Serbia did the job and managed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Paris 2024 Olympics at the end of a beautiful match against South Sudan, a team that never gave up until the very end. In fact, the game was balanced until a few minutes into the game, when the Serbians took a 17-point lead, only for the Africans to make another comeback to within -7. This time, however, it was too late; Serbia made no mistakes and won 96-85, a victory that also put a smile on the face of Greece, who qualified as one of the top two thirds.

Serbia got 30 points and 8 assists from the sensational Bogdan Bogdanovic, 22 points and 13 rebounds from Nikola Jokic and 15 points and 7 assists from Vasilije Micic.

For South Sudan, Carlik Jones’ 17 points and 10 assists, Shayok’s 17 points and Omot’s 14 points were not enough.
