PAOK have provided an update on Nikos Chougkaz, announcing that surgery has been selected after a reassessment of the serious injury to his right ankle. The club initially followed the conservative treatment recommended by medical protocols for this type of issue.
According to the official statement, new findings, especially clinical instability detected after the extensive swelling subsided, led to the conclusion that surgery was the safest and most effective option. The decision was also based on the progress of the recovery and the current stage of the season, with the player in agreement.
The operation is scheduled for Thursday, April 16. Chougkaz will then immediately begin his rehabilitation program, with PAOK’s medical staff set to closely monitor his recovery ahead of the next season.
