Panionios changes plans: Andrew Jones out for months, contract terminated

The American guard, who was announced by the Greek club on July 3, suffered an injury during an individual offseason workout and is expected to miss several months. The two sides have mutually agreed to terminate the contract before the player even arrived in Greece.

Jones will not join Panionios

Panionios Cosmorama Travel has announced the mutual termination of its agreement with Andrew Jones, who had originally signed with the club on July 3 ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The American suffered an injury while working out individually during the offseason. The injury is expected to keep him out for the entire preseason and a significant portion of the upcoming campaign.

Given the circumstances, both sides agreed to end their partnership.

Panionios praises Jones’ professionalism

The Greek club highlighted the honesty and professionalism shown by Jones throughout the process, describing his conduct as a reflection of his character.

Panionios thanked the player for his contribution and wished him a quick recovery and a speedy return to the court.

Jones had not yet arrived in Greece or officially started his experience with the Nea Smyrni club.
