Panathinaikos unlikely to join Super Cup in Rhodes, proposal for SEF final rejected

Panathinaikos AKTOR submitted a proposal to reform the Greek Super Cup 2025, linking the semifinals to the league’s first round and suggesting a final at SEF on December 7. However, the plan was rejected by the league and Olympiacos’ representatives.

With the team returning from Australia on September 25 and the EuroLeague Media Day set for the 26th, participation in the Super Cup in Rhodes (26-27/9) is considered almost impossible. The first EuroLeague game is scheduled for September 30.

The club criticized logistics, costs, and lack of revenue from the Rhodes event. Despite risking a €20,000 fine, Panathinaikos sees no viable path under current conditions and calls for a modernized model respecting clubs’ commercial and athletic needs.
