The 7th “Pavlos Giannakopoulos” Tournament delivered a memorable night, as Panathinaikos defeated Partizan 91-82 after turning the game around in the second half. Despite missing several key players (Lesort, Shorts, Osman, Grigonis, Holmes, and Sloukas resting), Ataman’s squad leaned on Kendrick Nunn (21 points, 8 assists) and a dominant Omer Yurtseven (20 points on 9/11 shooting plus 13 rebounds).

Nikos Rogkavopoulos contributed 10 points and strong defense in his debut, while Toliopoulos added energy. Grant (9 points, 6 assists) and Juancho Hernangomez (9 points, 8 boards) also made an impact. For Partizan, Duane Washington’s 19 points (5/7 from deep), Jabari Parker’s 18, and Dylan Osetkowski’s 16 weren’t enough. After a hot Serbian start from beyond the arc (27-20 after 10’), Panathinaikos responded with Yurtseven’s presence inside and Nunn’s playmaking, eventually pulling away to seal the 91-82 win.

Next up for Ataman’s team is a matchup against the Adelaide 76ers in Sydney on Sunday, September 21.
