Ergin Ataman is reportedly close to the end of his time as Panathinaikos AKTOR head coach after the EuroLeague playoff elimination against Valencia.

According to Sport24, the atmosphere around the Turkish coach has become heavier after the European setback, and the club could decide to move on before the end of the season.

It remains unclear who would lead Panathinaikos in the final stretch of the Stoiximan GBL, with the semifinal against PAOK coming up. Christos Serelis is one possible option, but all scenarios remain open.

A meeting between Dimitris Giannakopoulos and Ataman is expected to discuss the coach’s future. Ataman joined in 2023 and won one EuroLeague, one Greek league title and two Greek Cups.
