Pallacanestro Varese has rejected a significant financial offer from CSKA Moscow for Olivier Hanlan. This was reported by La Prealpina.
The Russian proposal, which included a four-month contract – the equivalent of Hanlan’s entire season at Varese – and a substantial buyout of around $100,000, was rejected by the Italian club with a polite ‘no thanks’.
This decision marks a departure from the past and underlines a change in the club’s attractiveness after the “great flight” of foreigners in 2021.
Unlike previous contracts with buy-out clauses, Hanlan’s is binding until 30 June, giving Varese control over his eventual transfer.
