Varese’s NBA Europe candidacy
According to La Prealpina, Pallacanestro Varese is continuing its push toward a potential NBA Europe project.
As previously reported, the club has submitted its candidacy in partnership with RedBird, the investment fund that owns AC Milan. A response could reportedly arrive as early as mid-October, although the timeline will depend on how the relationship between the NBA and EuroLeague develops.
Varese and RedBird, contacts already underway
The letter of intent between Varese and RedBird would only need to be explored in operational terms if the NBA gives the project the green light.
The contacts between the two sides are already evident, however, from Brandon Snow’s presence at Masnago to meetings between Luis Scola and RedBird executives.
The potential NBA Europe project therefore remains a major possibility for Varese, but there is still no definitive timeline for a decision.
A growth strategy beyond the NBA
In the meantime, Varese is continuing to invest in its own development independently of the NBA project.
The club’s investments in the roster, the Campus and the expansion of the arena are part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening the organization regardless of whether NBA Europe becomes a reality.
The multi-year contracts signed during the summer also point to a project designed to extend beyond a single season.
For now, Varese is therefore preparing for the future on two fronts: keeping its NBA Europe ambitions alive while continuing to build a stronger and more sustainable club independently of the project.
