After Anadolu Efes fell 79–62 to Fenerbahçe Beko in Round 25 of the EuroLeague regular season, head coach Pablo Laso pointed to the opening period as the turning point: “One situation clearly defines the game — the result of the first quarter: 25–8.”
Laso noted that Efes were able to compete across the remaining three quarters, but the slow start proved costly: “We were late getting into the game.” He added that their overall shooting was not good enough to erase the gap created early by Fenerbahçe.
He closed by praising the opponent and immediately shifting attention to what’s next: “Congratulations to Fenerbahçe Beko; they play at a very high level. Now we quickly have to recover from this game and start focusing on Sunday’s game.”
