Franz Wagner will miss his second straight game with a right calf strain as Orlando leads Detroit 3-2

The Orlando Magic have ruled Franz Wagner out for Friday’s Game 6 against the Detroit Pistons. The forward will miss his second consecutive game because of a right calf strain.

Wagner suffered the injury in the third quarter of Game 4 and did not play in the fourth quarter of Orlando’s 94-88 win. Without him in Game 5, the Magic lost 116-109 but still lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.

His absence is especially significant defensively against Cade Cunningham. With Wagner as his primary defender over the first four games, Cunningham scored just 17 total points. In Game 5, he exploded for a franchise playoff-record 45 points.
