Olympiacos retired the number 15 of Georgios Printezis in a touching ceremony at the Peace and Friendship Stadium. The event was attended by many iconic faces of Olympiacos, including Vassilis Spanoulis, a player who had the honor of seeing his own jersey hanging in the Greek club’s arena, and who from tonight will have Printezis’ next to it. The Angelopoulos brothers celebrated Printezis’ career by taking the floor in front of the fans.
The words of Panagiotis Angelopoulos: “For me Printezis represents soul, dedication, hard work and longevity. He had a great career and we shared incredible moments together: EuroLeague titles, championships, cups and difficult moments. There is always an end for every athlete, but I wish him all the best and hope he will stay with Olympiacos forever.
The words of Georgios Panagiotis: “This shot in 2012 changed the history of Olympiacos. It was the most beautiful moment for all of us and from that moment on everything changed for the club and for our lives”.
