Olympiacos won the EuroLeague game against Barcelona with a Fournier basket at the buzzer, but at the end of the game, during coach Bartzokas’ press conference, came a provocative question. In fact, the Greek coach was asked whether a team with stars of the caliber of Vezenkov and Fournier “needs the help of the referees” to win games. However, the coach did not lose his cool and answered the reporter’s question diplomatically.
Bartzokas’ answer: “This is a very provocative question. Of course you do not expect me to answer it. This is the new trend in the EuroLeague: whoever loses a game has to say something about the referees, complain and say things like that. So it’s really ridiculous to ask me this question and expect me to say something other than the fact that the game was balanced. In the last four possessions, Kevin Punter made eight free throws. It’s a question of perspective. If you are a Barcelona fan, you see what you said. But I am a coach and I have to answer the normal questions of a journalist”.
