Olimpia Milano targets former Alba Berlin Maodo Lo

The German point guard's name appears to be more than just an option for Olimpia Milano as a backup playmaker

“Olimpia Milano Sets Sights on Maodo Lo,” headlines La Gazzetta dello Sport. The German point guard’s name appears to be more than just an option for Olimpia Milano as a backup playmaker.

The italian newspaper goes as far as to say that an “agreement is just around the corner”. Born in 1992 in Berlin, Maodo Lo is a 191-centimeter athlete with a solid defensive presence.

Having trained at Columbia University, he returned to Germany with Alba Berlin under Andrea Trinchieri after Brad Wanamaker’s departure. Effectively, in the BBL, he’s donned the jerseys of the three most important teams: after two years in Bamberg (thus also with Olimpia Milano’s captain Nicolò Melli), he played two seasons for Bayern and three for Alba.

In the 2021-2022 season, he had his best year: 13.3 points in the EuroLeague with 3.7 assists. In the last season, these numbers were 11.6 and 2.8, which became 9.4 and 3.8 in the top German league.
