Peppe Poeta wants to build an Olimpia Milano team capable of inspiring its supporters. “We want to excite our fans and make them proud of us. We sell emotions,” the head coach told Massimo Pisa in an interview with Repubblica Milano.
Poeta: “I’m a dreamer”
The EuroLeague postseason represents the major target. “Reaching the playoffs would be a wonderful goal and a dream at the same time,” Poeta said. After his first two seasons as a head coach exceeded expectations, he acknowledged that he still has plenty to learn.
Poeta also expects the most competitive Italian league in a decade following the investments made by Varese, Napoli and the two Rome clubs, without overlooking Virtus Bologna and Tortona. He also praised the ownership group and president Leo Dell’Orco: “They give us stability, style and support.”
