Olimpia Milano will play their first preseason test today, hosting Pallacanestro Varese at 5 p.m. at the secondary gym of the Forum in Assago. The game will be played behind closed doors and will also represent the second preseason outing for Ioannis Kastritis’ team.
Both teams will have to deal with several absences. Milano have worked for ten consecutive days ahead of their first game, but their roster is still reduced due to several players being away on national team duty. Varese, meanwhile, are waiting to assess the availability of some players: David Duke and Amedeo Della Valle have returned to team practice, although the latter is unlikely to play, according to La Prealpina. Isaiah Roby has been working separately, while Matteo Librizzi is questionable after suffering a stomach problem.
Sam Peek has also joined Olimpia’s group, although his involvement appears unlikely unless needed, according to QS. Varese nevertheless arrive at the game with a week of additional preparation and following the enthusiasm generated by their open practice at the Campus, which was attended by around 600 fans.
