According to ESPN, Jalen Williams will miss the Oklahoma City Thunder’s season opener against the Houston Rockets as he continues recovering from offseason wrist surgery.
Coach Mark Daigneault said Williams is “progressing” and “right on schedule,” but there’s no firm return date. Williams said earlier in preseason that he’ll play only when he feels “100%,” focusing on regaining his shooting touch.
Williams injured his wrist on April 9 but delayed surgery until the offseason, requiring nearly 30 pain-killing injections to finish the playoffs. The Thunder are expected to manage his comeback cautiously.
