Oklahoma City Thunder’ Daigneault on Pokusevski: “We believe in him and we will be his fans.”

The current Oklahoma City Thunder coach wanted to thank and send a message to Aleksej Pokusevski, a player recently cut by the franchise.

The Oklahoma City Thunder, as it is known, decided to cut Aleksej Pokusevski, a player chosen at the 2020 NBA Draft with call number 17 by the franchise now led by coach Daigneault. The Thunder coach himself wanted to express his esteem for the Serbian player by speaking to the press.

Coach Daigneault on Pokusevski: “In the four years he’s been here, he’s obviously a guy we picked. He came into our program, he was very inexperienced physically, he had never played in the NBA and I didn’t think he had a great understanding of his game as a professional player. Three and a half years later, he has improved in all these aspects, and that is what we wanted. He has not been able to carve out a consistent role for himself this season, but he is another guy we are rooting for. We believe in him and appreciate his commitment to our program during his time here, and I wanted to make sure we recognized that.”

Pokusevski played 150 games with the Oklahoma City Thunder averaging 7.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
