Valencia Basket has officially signed Elias Valtonen on a non-guaranteed contract that could keep the Finnish forward with the club through the end of the 2026-27 season.
The 27-year-old arrives as a free agent after three seasons with Covirán Granada, where he averaged 9.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists, while shooting 37.1% from beyond the arc during the 2025-26 campaign.
Valtonen brings extensive Liga Endesa experience, having played 118 games across five seasons with Baxi Manresa and Covirán Granada. After developing in Finland and spending two years at Arizona State, he began his professional career with Tigers Tübingen in Germany before moving to Spain.
A regular member of the Finnish national team, Valtonen has represented his country at EuroBasket 2022, the 2023 FIBA World Cup, and EuroBasket 2025, where he helped Finland reach the semifinals while averaging 7.7 points and 3.2 rebounds.
