Scariolo will leave the Spanish national team after Eurobasket

Real Madrid CF announces that Sergio Scariolo will be the head coach of the basketball team for the next three seasons, until June 30, 2028.

Sergio Scariolo will coach Real Madrid after the Spanish national basketball team’s participation in the Eurobasket in Cyprus, Finland, Poland, and Latvia.

Sergio Scariolo, one of the most prestigious coaches in the basketball world, arrives at Real Madrid after a brilliant career at the helm of the Spanish national team, where he has become the most successful coach in its history, with a total of eight medals: 5 gold (2019 World Cup, Eurobasket 2009, Eurobasket 2011, Eurobasket 2015 and Eurobasket 2022), 1 silver (2012 London Olympic Games) and 2 bronze (2016 Rio Olympic Games and 2017 Eurobasket).

An NBA champion as an assistant coach with the Toronto Raptors in the 2018-19 season, his European club trophy cabinet includes eight titles: two ACB Leagues, one with Real Madrid (1999-2000) and another with Unicaja; one Italian League with Scavolini; two Spanish Copa del Reys, one with Tau Cerámica and another with Unicaja; and one EuroCup and two Italian Super Cups with Virtus Bologna.
