Partizan Mozzart Bet has appointed Joan Peñarroya as its new head coach. The Spanish coach, most recently with Barcelona, arrived in Belgrade last night and will assume his duties today.
Born on April 20, 1969, Peñarroya has previously led Baskonia, Valencia, Manresa, Burgos, and Andorra.
With Burgos, he won the FIBA Basketball Champions League twice (2020 and 2021) and also lifted the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
The announcement highlights his track record and experience across multiple top-level Spanish clubs.
Assistant coach Uroš Dragićević also joins the staff, after working as Academy director at KK Fuenlabrada and serving on Monaco’s coaching staff.
Partizan’s next game is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 26, in Belgrade against Maccabi.
