Official: Fenerbahce signs Braxton Key on a two-year deal

The American forward joins the Turkish champions after spending last season with Valencia Basket.

Fenerbahçe Beko has officially announced the signing of American forward Braxton Key (2.03 m, born in 1997) on a two-year contract following his stint with Valencia Basket.

Key played college basketball at Alabama from 2016 to 2018 before transferring to Virginia, where he won the 2019 NCAA Championship with the Cavaliers.

He began his professional career with the Delaware Blue Coats in the NBA G League during the 2021-22 season before signing with the Philadelphia 76ers in January 2022. He later joined the Detroit Pistons on a two-way contract, also playing for the Motor City Cruise. After returning to the Delaware Blue Coats in 2023, he captured the NBA G League title.

Key then played for Vaqueros de Bayamón in Puerto Rico before returning to the NBA with the Denver Nuggets. He also spent time with the San Diego Clippers, earning the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award, and later had a stint with the Golden State Warriors before joining Valencia Basket in 2025.

During the 2025-26 season, he helped Valencia reach the EuroLeague Final Four and averaged 6.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and a 6.6 performance index rating in Europe’s top competition.

Fenerbahçe welcomed Braxton Key to the club and wished him great success in the yellow-and-navy jersey beginning with the 2026-27 season.
