Kosner Baskonia has officially signed Dominican guard Chris Duarte (born in 1997) to a two-year contract. The experienced guard joins the club in Vitoria-Gasteiz after spending the 2025-26 season with Unicaja Málaga.
After beginning his basketball journey with the Oregon Ducks in the NCAA, Duarte was selected in the 2021 NBA Draft and made his NBA debut with the Indiana Pacers during the 2021-22 season. He later played for the Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls, appearing in more than 150 NBA games.
Duarte made his European debut last season with Unicaja Málaga, averaging 11.4 points and 2.9 assists per game in the Liga Endesa, while posting 9.5 points and 1.9 assists per contest in the Basketball Champions League.
On the international stage, Duarte recently impressed with the Dominican Republic during the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, combining for 29 points and 12 rebounds in his last two games against the United States and Nicaragua.
With the addition of Chris Duarte, Baskonia strengthens its backcourt with an athletic, physical, and versatile scorer capable of making an impact on both ends of the floor.
