Ofer Yannay: “Hapoel Tel Aviv is better than Panathinaikos and Valencia, but we won’t be at the F4″

Ofer Yannay once again addressed Hapoel Tel Aviv’s European ambitions, insisting on the level of his team after the EuroLeague season.

Speaking to Sports Walla, Hapoel’s owner commented on the Panathinaikos-Valencia series: “I watched Panathinaikos against Valencia. We are much better than both Panathinaikos and Valencia. But Valencia will be at the Final Four and we won’t”.

Yannay also discussed the chances of securing a stable EuroLeague contract: “Zero chance, in my opinion. Zero chance they would have given us another EuroLeague spot if we had not finished in the top six”.

The Hapoel owner also mentioned the NBA Europe scenario: “Next year, either we secure franchise status in the EuroLeague, or maybe Adam Silver decides to invite Israel to join NBA Europe and then we will have a chance there too”.
