The last addition to the ERA Basketball Nymburk is American pointguard Sterling Gibbs, who comes from Belgian team Antwerp Giants. The 28-year-old New Jersey native signed a one-year contract.
“We have the last piece in our puzzle. These are point guard with experience from Europe from quality leagues such as the Belgian and Adriatic league. We expect that he will bring this experience to our game and will be a calm force at the game, “said the sports director of Nymburk Ladislav Sokolovský.
Since last December, Gibbs has worked in Antwerp, where he was the main star of the team. With an average of 16.5 points per match, he was the fourth best scorer in the entire Belgian league. He was seventh in the assists (4.5 assists per match).
Nymburk goes into the season with four foreigners. Jerrick Harding remains in the squad, new faces iGorjok Gak and Demetre Rivers in addition to Gibbs. The new player from the Czech is František Váňa.
