It ends 82-74 for Panathinaikos against Crvena Zvezda, with Nigel Hayes-Davis leading all scorers with 20 points and Kendrick Nunn right behind him with 19, including 13 in the fourth quarter. Jared Butler leads the visitors with 15 points in a game that the Serbian side had largely under control for long stretches.
Crvena Zvezda starts better, takes a 27-20 lead after the first quarter and still leads 48-41 at halftime. After a nervous opening to the second half, the visitors also put together a 10-0 run and enter the final quarter ahead 62-55, looking in command of the closing stretch.
But the last ten minutes change everything, as Panathinaikos raises its defensive level and allows only 12 points to coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos’ team. That is when Nunn takes over and drives the comeback, giving the Greek side its second straight home win and drawing level in the standings at 18-14, even though Crvena Zvezda keeps the head-to-head advantage.
