There has been no significant progress toward a contract extension between Rudy Gobert and the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Jon Krawczynski on his podcast.
Gobert is entering the second year of a three-year, $109.5 million contract that includes a $38 million player option for 2027-28. A potential extension could lower his annual salary while providing additional long-term security.
The four-time Defensive Player of the Year remains central to Minnesota’s plans after averaging 10.9 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. “The team will explore it, but I haven’t heard any real momentum toward it happening immediately,” Krawczynski said.
