Nikola Kalinic has officially announced his retirement from professional basketball. The 34-year-old Serbian forward will remain with Crvena Zvezda, where he will work as an assistant coach for the next two seasons while beginning his transition to coaching.
“I’m ending my playing career. I’ll become an assistant coach at Crvena Zvezda for the next two years, and in the meantime I’ll complete my coaching education. After that, who knows — on to new challenges.”
Kalinic thus begins a new chapter in his career, moving directly from the court to the bench at the Belgrade club.
