Nikola Jokic reiterated his commitment to the Denver Nuggets during Media Day, making it clear that he wants to remain with the franchise beyond his current contract. The Serbian superstar confirmed that his intention is to sign a new deal with Denver next summer rather than extend his contract immediately.
“I want to stay in Denver. I want to play here for the rest of my career,” Jokic said, reiterating the desire he had already expressed earlier this summer. The Nuggets star is currently under contract through the 2026-27 season, with a player option for 2027-28.
By waiting until next summer, Jokic will be eligible for a five-year contract worth approximately $359.5 million, which would be the largest deal in NBA history.
