After Denver’s first-round exit, Nikola Jokic reaffirmed his commitment to the Nuggets but admitted they are “far” from title contention

Nikola Jokic addressed the future of the Denver Nuggets after their surprising first-round playoff exit against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Serbian star made his position clear: “I still want to be a Nugget forever.”

Jokic will be extension eligible this summer, but the mood in Denver is far from bright. The Nuggets won 54 regular-season games but lost the series 4-2. “We just lost in the first round. I think we are far away,” he said.

The center also accepted responsibility for his performance: “I needed to play better. I must play better.” Asked about possible changes, Jokic added: “That’s not my decision. Definitely, if we were in Serbia, we would all get fired.”
