Nikola Jokic had a few things to get off his chest after the Denver Nuggets’ win over the New Orleans Pelicans, a game in which he moved past Russell Westbrook for the most career triple-doubles combined in the regular season (199) and playoffs (23).
The Serbian center addressed the boos the Nuggets received in the first half, when the Pelicans led by as many as 23 points.
“I’m actually really glad you asked that question, because we were already getting booed in our first home game of the season. I think those fans shouldn’t come to our games anymore. If you follow us, you know we’re a team that never gives up and that we’ve come back from much worse or similar situations in the past. So, if you ask me, those kinds of fans are no longer welcome.”
Jokic ended the game with 35 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assist, 2 steals and 3 blocks:
