After being eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Denver Nuggets are heading into an offseason expected to bring several changes—while one certainty remains: Nikola Jokic.
According to Shams Charania, the Serbian center is set to follow through on his recent statements by signing a four-year extension worth around $278 million.
In return, Jokic is expected to push the front office to build a more competitive roster than the one that just ended the season.
“There are going to be changes in Denver. I don’t know how much, but there’s going to be some level of change. Whether that’s tinkering a couple a couple players around… But they are so strapped financially moving forward in whether it’s the tax, whether it’s approaching the aprons, that there’s going to be a lot of a lot of conversations about players on this roster.”

Jokic wrapped up the regular season averaging a triple-double with highly efficient shooting splits, but struggled in the playoffs against Rudy Gobert and Minnesota’s defense.
