Barça and Nigel Hayes-Davis have reached an agreement for the US player to join the club for the coming season until 30 June 2022. The agreement is pending the player’s medical.
Hayes can play at small or power forward and arrives from Zalgiris Kaunas where he has spent the last two seasons.
Hayes is solid on offence and defence and offers the versatility of being able to play at small and power forward with a 44% in three pointer in the Euroleague. The American scores 89% from the free throw line and is a good rebounder also.
In 2019/20 at Zalgiris he played under the current Barça coach Sarunas Jasikevicius.
Experience in Europe
After playing college basketball at the University of Wisconsin, Hayes came to Europe in 2018 to sign for Galatasaray. In the Turkish league his figures of 33 games with an average of 12.6 points and 5.2 rebounds caught the attention of Lithuanian team Zalgiris.
For the Kaunas based club he played 62 games in the league and 62 in the Euroleague. In the 2020/21 season in Europe he scored averaged 26 minutes a game with 9.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and a 9.8 valuation.
