Nicolò Melli, who will face Olimpia Milano’s Fenerbahce today, spoke to Sky Sport Insider. Here are some extracts from the chat with Geri De Rosa.
ON TONIGHT’S GAME
I had marked the game, but not the date. Because in this environment, even after all these years, you try to think from week to week. The game against Milan is very special to me, maybe the most heartfelt of the year, because of what it represents. I’ve been waiting for it.
ON REGRETS
No regrets, because at the end of the day you regret not giving it all. I always did my best. Of course, sooner or later you have to take stock of what has happened, that happens in every field, beyond the time in Milan. I’ve tried to understand where I went wrong, what I could have done more, how I could have played better, but that’s part of any analysis of an experience. It’s part of the game, we took different paths. But I have no regrets. Decisions have been made, I’ve taken note of them. We move on.
ON THE REASONS FOR THE SPLIT
You don’t have to ask me that. I don’t have an answer to that question. I was simply told that a different path was to be taken. I have taken note of this decision, which is absolutely legitimate, and as I have always said, we are moving on.
