Nicolas Laprovittola opened up after leading Joventut Badalona to the Spanish Super Cup title with a 101-87 win over his former team Barcelona. The Argentine guard scored 31 points on 9-of-13 shooting from three and was named MVP.
“Without a doubt, I had extra motivation against Barcelona. Honestly, it was very difficult for me this summer to accept what happened, but these things happen in professional sports and you have to move forward,” Laprovittola said.
He also praised Badalona’s victory over two EuroLeague teams: “We proved that Badalona has the quality to compete against EuroLeague teams.”
Reflecting on his individual honors, he added: “I owe what I achieved individually to my family and my teammates.”
On his return to Badalona, Laprovittola said: “It feels like these seven years never passed. Nobody could have planned a scenario like this.”
