The New York Knicks are holding their breath over Miles “Deuce” McBride, who left the game against the Orlando Magic with a left ankle injury. Initial X-rays came back negative, but the guard is scheduled for an MRI tomorrow for further evaluation, per New York Basketball.
McBride was hurt after landing awkwardly on a drive where he was fouled, limped off the floor and went to the locker room, as reported by Ian Begley. He briefly stayed in after shooting his free throws, but eventually had to be subbed out, with the Knicks later stating they’ll know more on the injury tomorrow.
Coming into the game, McBride was enjoying a breakout year, averaging career-highs in points (12) and 3-point percentage (46.2%), solidifying his role in Tom Thibodeau’s rotation. New York now awaits the MRI results, hoping to have avoided a more serious setback to his left ankle.
