Jalen Brunson sustained a Grade 1 right ankle sprain late in the Knicks’ 124-107 loss to the Orlando Magic, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania. He’s been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Miami Heat.
Brunson, who had 31 points and six assists, turned his ankle on a drive with under two minutes left and later exited Madison Square Garden on crutches and in a walking boot.
It’s the same ankle that sidelined him for 15 games last season. The loss snapped New York’s five-game winning streak and marked their first home defeat after a 7-0 start at MSG.
