According to Bennett Durando of the Denver Post, Lonnie Walker will sign a non-guaranteed training camp deal with the Denver Nuggets and will compete for a roster spot.
The guard has therefore given up two guaranteed seasons remaining on his lucrative contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv in an attempt to return to the NBA.
The Nuggets currently have 13 guaranteed contracts worth approximately $215 million in total (via CapSheets), but they still have to decide what to do with restricted free agent Payton Watson.
If Denver reaches a new agreement with the forward, the team will move above the Second Apron, with all the roster-building implications that entails.
Walker has averaged 10 points and 1.5 assists in 20 minutes per game over his seven NBA seasons.
