The Brooklyn Nets are acquiring Julius Randle from the Minnesota Timberwolves in a three-team trade that will also send Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls.
According to ESPN, Randle and the No. 28 pick in the NBA Draft will go to Brooklyn, while the Nets will send the No. 33 pick to Minnesota. Chicago will trade Mo Gueye to the Timberwolves as part of the deal.
The move gives Minnesota more financial flexibility and sets up the team’s planned five-year, $112 million deal with Ayo Dosunmu. Randle returns to New York after spending five seasons with the Knicks before joining Minnesota.
Claxton leaves Brooklyn after spending his entire career with the Nets. Last season, he averaged 11.7 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 57.1 percent from the field.
