NBA TV’s Sekou Smith passes away at 48 due to COVID-19

Smith was one of the most beloved members of NBA media.

Prominent journalist Sekou Smith has passed away at the age of 48 following a battle with COVID-19.

“The NBA mourns the passing of Sekou Smith, a beloved member of the NBA family,” the NBA said in a statement.

Smith spent the past 11 years with Turner Sports after previously working as a beat reporter with the Indianapolis Star and Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
