The NBA, through spokesman Mike Bass, released a press release regarding the Marca article about plans to create an NBA division in Europe.
“The NBA has a long-standing relationship with FIBA to grow basketball around the world through initiatives like Basketball Without Borders and the Basketball Africa League (BAL). We have also played a number of preseason games against EuroLeague teams over the years. As part of our ongoing collaboration with both stakeholders, we recently were invited to engage in discussions about how we can work together to grow basketball in Europe. We look forward to participating in subsequent conversations moving forward.”
