NBA reportedly claiming at least 10% players still unvaccinated against COVID-19

The NBA vaccination rate is believed to be lower than the NFL's one

A long feature by Rolling Stone on the influence and the role that unvaccinated players have within the NBA reports that at least the 10% of NBA players have not yet received one doses of a COVID-19 vaccine on eve of the 2021-22 Training Camps. One of the most “novax” teams is believed to be the Boston Celtics, that as of now is said to have “multiple players whom are unvaccinated”. NBA’s vaccination rate is reportedly lower than the most conservative NFL’s one, with the latter having proposed a vaccination mandate for the players some weeks ago.

Rolling Stone feature also mentions some conspiracy theories liked and shared on Social Media by Brooklyn Nets’ star Kyrie Irving, alongside Orlando Magic’s Jonathan Isaac proud unvaccinated status. NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had his say in the piece, believing the NBA should require all players and staff to be vaccinated: “There is no room for players who are willing to risk the health and lives of their teammates, the staff and the fans simply because they are unable to grasp the seriousness of the situation or do the necessary research”.
