Tre Maddox went down near the end of the first quarter and could not put weight on his leg

NBA referee Tre Maddox suffered a leg injury near the end of the first quarter of Friday night’s Chicago Bulls–Cleveland Cavaliers game.
Maddox fell while running off the court during a stoppage and appeared to roll his ankle.

He was taken back to the officials’ locker room and was unable to put any weight on his leg.
Maddox, 58, is in his 15th season as an NBA official and worked the 2025 All-Star Game in San Francisco.

The rest of the game was handled by a two-person crew: Ray Acosta and Phenizee Ransom.
The Bulls pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 136-125 win in Cleveland.
