The NBA has announced that Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic has been fined $50,000 after making “an inappropriate and unprofessional gesture” toward a referee during the second half of the Lakers’ 110-97 win over the New York Knicks on Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.
The relationship between Doncic and referees has historically been a complicated one, with the Slovenian phenom sometimes losing time and focus while protesting calls.
It’s an attitude that head coach JJ Redick does not appreciate, and in recent days he has also criticized his player for complaining too much.
