Blake Griffin announced his retirement from playing basketball through a letter posted on his X profile. The former Los Angeles Clippers big forward was named to the All-NBA second team three times, All-NBA third team three times, as well as being selected as an All-Star six times and also awarded Rookie of the Year after being selected as the first overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. He also won the dunk contest once, having established himself as one of the league’s most spectacular dunkers for many years.
After 14 NBA seasons, Blake Griffin then said enough: he played his last season with the Boston Celtics a year ago.
