The NBA has informed its teams of the Basketball Related Income (BRI) from the 2019-20 season: $6.865 billion. Before the season, the NBA had projected $8 billion in BRI. This decrease is mainly due to the COVID-19 hiatus and the restart with no fans.
ESPN’s front office insider Bobby Marks said the salary cap would have come in at $90 million if the league and players association did not agree to artificially set it at the same level as last season ($109 million).
